Biography:
LIVID is the most explosive, raw, stripped-down, rock power trio to hit the stage in a long time.
If THE POLICE were locked for a few months in room with The CHILLI PEPPERS and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, the result in sound would probably be LIVID!!
Driving, funk-rock, bass riffs pound through your chest as tight, Copeland/Bonham-fused beats and lustful, unapologetic guitar licks wrap you in the folds of the rock flag. You'll find yourself chanting along to a tune you feel you always knew, yet you're hearing it for the first time.
Commanding vocal melodies, two and three part harmonies, dynamic stops, hits, swells and breakdowns are going to make you wonder how in the hell is all this music coming from just three people. That's LIVID!
Short History:
LIVID was formed during the late summer of 2005 in the fallout of two great CT bands, SUBTLE MISCHIEF and The Jaeme Brennan Band.
Nikkos Baksh and Ed Fichtner formerly of SUBTLE MISCHIEF and Chuck Peterson formerly of The Jaeme Brennan Band teamed up in a sweaty, concrete room of Hartford's Colt Building to form LIVID.
The debut EP captures a piece of the magic and fluidity that guitarist Ed Fichtner brings to the table. Five years of writing and playing music with Nikkos culminates in the ease with which Ed complements and accents the bass riffs, beats and melodies on this disc. Of course, the signature, scorching solos cannot be missed.
Sadly in April of 2005, Ed played his last show with LIVID in Montreal, Quebec. Ed has sinced moved to sunny San Diego, CA...the bastard!!! He is dearly missed.
Enter rock/metal guitar virtuoso, Rob Joeckel also formerly of The Jaeme Brennan Band, who aptly filled Ed's shoes and brought a pair of kicks of his own! Be on the lookout for Rob's contributions on the upcoming album release in summer 2006.
